Redlands Shire Council in South East Queensland have been using
Enzymatic in two areas of their landfill site. Enzymatic has been sprayed
onto the pit face for odour control using a 1 to 30 dilution rate. In a
pit well that drains off the excess moisture Enzymatic has been used
full strength to break down the black sludge and control the rather repulsive odour, as this has to be manually emptied on a regular basis. Mr. Brian King in charge of operations and his Foreman are constantly searching to perfect the application of our product on the pit face, World Enzymes Australia have been able to assist from experience in other areas and will continue to help where possible. (1) To reduce the amount of waste going to garbage tips by half by the year 2000. (2) That by the year 2011, Brisbane's residence will product less waste per person than any other Australian capital. Both these goals are on track and are achievable and have already dropped 25% over the past two years. Word Enzymes Australia were fortunate enough to be involved in trials to combat the rather large odour problem that exists with any large land fill area. At this time every thing is on a trial basis and our solution is only one option available. This sequence of photographs shows the work that we have been involved in, which includes the design area for the application for this specific purpose. We have made it clear that odour control should start at the transfer station which would reduce the need for further application at the land fill face. We worked with Mr. David Low at Pacific Waste and Mr. Campbell Foster along with their Environment & Infrastructure Consultants Rust P.P.K. Pty Ltd. (See some test results) Click here |
