sewage from marine outfalls within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park
(Marine Park) and any land based facilities on Commonwealth islands
within the Marine Park.

Onboard Sewage Treatment
There are more than 230 cruise ships
operating world wide. Cruise ships are literally floating cities that
provide some of the same services that small cities or towns provide
to their citizens. These vessels can carry as many as 3,000 passengers
and crew members, and often operate in pristine coastal waters. As the
cruise ship industry expands there is an increasing concern about
their potential water quality impacts.
